The concept of somatic integration that evolved into Somatic Psychotherapy and Integrated Energetics was created by Dr. John C. Pierrokos. It took John his lifetime and was created in stages over many years. Johns work with Wilhim Reich began the process. He initially incorporated many basic Reichian concepts in his own private practice of traditional analysis. He then went on to create Bioenergetics with Alexander Lowen, M.D.). Together they began the first body psychotherapy and also utilized insights from modern physics, the evolutionary path of many physical, mental and spiritual experiences, as well as the inspiring lectures delivered by Eva Pierrokos, which expanded into the process called The Pathwork. As a result, there is a core institute in New York City, Germany, Brazil, Mexico, Australia, Switzerland and the south of France, as well as Core LA.
Like Dr John Pierrokos, Dr Suzanne Lopez not only trained in somatic psychotherapy and utilized to release her life force energy she assisted in the Core Energetic institute in NYC and began to utilize the work in workshops and in her private practice. Integrated energetics is a result of her
Core experience as well as other life experiences that help expand the life force, re-frame and integrate mind body and spirit in life affirming ways.
The main characteristics of the life energy are: pulsation, motility, rhythm, abundance, flexibility, and malleability. Our consciousness becomes the sculptor of the plastic, abundant and benign properties of these energy fields by sculpting the shape of the body and performing the individual experiment of the human existence.
Thus, each of our unique bodies are a laboratory of life and the vehicle through which we express our emotions, thoughts and spiritual self. Striking and very critical information needed for awareness and healing is revealed by each person’s unique physical body. By working with the body, which carries defensive reactions to our emotions, we open up the way to the Energetic Integration and an authentic connection to our core. . Our bodies are the most wonderful instruments and ready to assist us on our transformation journey. The focus integrate energetic is on releasing the life energy held within our systems as a way to touch the essence of our being.
This integrated, holistic approach focuses on both the unconscious in involuntary releases of held energy and uses conscious awareness for integration and transformation. . The involuntary processes are expressed in life through the pulsations of energy streaming through the body. When this streaming is allowed to continue, the person experiences a vibration and resonance in the whole organism, which helps to integrate the conscious with the unconscious. The exploration seeks to discover the emotional and physical defense patterns expressed in the person's process.
Somatic Psychotherapy is an energy and consciousness-oriented body psychotherapy that’s takes energetic trauma out of the body. When released its works to quickly integrate body, mind, emotions and spirit to create unity in the individual.Participants are able to reconnect with their own truth, new passions, power and deep inner feeling. Originally based on core energetic, this intensive process allows participants to generate inner healing opening blocked energies held in the body. To achieve this, somatic psychotherapy. exercises use breath and emotion combined with sound and movement to release the life force as well as blocked feeling, emotions and trauma.
Somatic psychotherapy expands the therapeutic experience and moves beyond the common goals of therapy.
Often the deep inner processes of a client or their history are not acknowledged, recognized, or released leaving he client to still suffer, and feel empty and unfulfilled. Often the unconscious, blocked energy in conjunction with contextual situations, which are represented in the emotional state of the body, has not been connected and unified with the flow of energy. The understanding of these processes, and their integration, is one of the unique benefits of somatic psychotherapy. Release of held energies in the body help re-frame past trauma and deepen a more positive personal life fulfilling experience.
The philosophical vision point of view of this type of therapy is to support individuals and groups to transform energy blocks, and emotional and spiritual obstacles which block the client. The end result is a conscious contact with their core and unique spirit. Each of our cores are the source of all healing, wisdom, joy and creativity. This process works for couples and clients of all ages who are seeking profound change and personal growth.
The human being possesses an unlimited capacity for expansion of consciousness. joy, creativity and passion. To the degree that we fail to reach fulfillment, we have to understand that we alone have withheld the flow of our own positive energy , creativity, flow and consciousness,
As we increase our awareness of these inner forces, allow ourselves to feel them, release them and we simultaneous increase our capacity to understand life and to take charge of these inner forces. In this way, we begin to change the quality of our lives and we move beyond the goals of therapy We are able to establish a unified and holistic process that connects the mind, the emotions, the body, and the spiritual self into a unified whole which expresses the total reality of of a fully expressed-creative, joyful , love filled life.
